Original and five copies of abstracts for CARBONATE BEACHES 2000 must be submitted not later than July 15, 2000 to Dr. Lisa L Robbins at conference headquarters. They should be limited to two pages, double-spaced, and list the names, title, affiliations, mailing addresses and telephone (and/or email, facsimile, if available) numbers of each author and co-author. Abstracts should summarize the major points of the paper to be presented at the conference. The family or last name of each author and co-author should be underlined. In the upper right hand corner of the first page, annotate the topic you wish to submit out of the conference topics listed previously. You may use another topic not on the list. Please place at the end of the abstract the preference for oral or poster presentation. [detailed abstract format information] Notification of acceptance for paper presentation along with the full format and submission instructions including a "Transfer of Copyright Form" will be mailed to authors and co-authors by August 15, 2000. The final camera-ready paper, completed in full accordance with the instructions, will be required from accepted authors and must be received by March 15, 2001, for printing in the post conference proceedings. Submission of a final paper is understood to be a firm commitment to attend CARBONATE BEACHES 2000. No scholarships or travel funds are available for conference attendees. All participants including authors, session chairs, and attendees are required to pay registration fees. The CARBONATE BEACHES 2000 Program will accept or reject papers based on the information in the abstracts and will assign accepted papers to appropriate sessions. In keeping with the symposium theme, papers may identify or offer solutions to problems, utilize case studies, identify knowledgeable gaps requiring further studies and collaboration, and discuss broader applications and implications of material presented. Authors are encouraged to include a brief current biography with their abstract. American Society of Civil Engineers will publish accepted papers in CARBONATE BEACHES 2000 post conference proceedings. Conference language is English. |
