| Pleistocene Channel Seismic Profile The large incised channel lies unconformabley below the Holocene sediments and represents a Pleistocene (Wisconsin in age) distributary of the paleo-Mississippi River. The channel is present across the southern portion of present-day Lake Pontchartrain and is seen in seismic records from Lake Borgne. |
