Photos depicting Algae. Figure 6. Photo depicting (A) a severe infestation of filamentous algae (species?) along the western side of Cayos Pequeño (photo taken October 1999). Infestation had disappeared by April 2000. (B) Fleshy algae (Lobophora sp.) are consistently present on all portions of the reef.
