In accordance with SO #3423 - The Gulf of America and SO #3424 - Mount McKinley and Landmarks Honoring the Alaskan People, new USGS data releases specific to those named places will utilize the new name Gulf of America and the restored name Mount McKinley. Per USGS practice, historical data will retain the name of the geographic features as they were known at the time the data were originally released.

Summary
This dataset, prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC), provides beach profile data collected at Sand Key Beach in Clearwater, Florida. Data were collected on foot by a person equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna affixed to a surveying backpack outfitted for surveying location and elevation data (XYZ) along pre-determined transects. The horizontal position data are given in the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projected coordinate system, Zone 17 North (17N), referenced to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83); the elevation data are referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88), GEOID 12B vertical coordinate system.
