West-Central Florida Hyperspectral Imagery

west-central Florida hyperspectral imagery This dataset consists of hyperspectral imagery mosaics for Longboat Pass, Venice Inlet, Boca Intercoastal Waterway, and Miserable Mile Intercoastal Waterway areas in the West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) ( The Casi-550 system hyperspectral imagery was collected on May 5, 2004 by Hyperspectral Data International, Inc., Halifax, Nova Scotia, under mostly clear sky conditions, using an aerial survey aircraft operated by US Imaging, Inc., Bartow, Florida. The resulting 19 bands of calibrated spectral radiance data ranged from the UV, through the visible blue, green, red, and near-infrared. For each location, the images displayed in Google Earth are RGB composites, with each color channel representative of a different band (wavelength) of reflected light.

Usage Notes: There are 2 layers per each location, corresponding to two combinations of bands of hyperspectral imagery. To view the alternate image, go to the sidebar and turn off the layer above. The user may wish to adjust the transparency of a particular image overlay; to do so, he or she may select that layer in the sidebar and adjust the slider.
